Delta – The 187th Edition of the Delta Fair begins this Thursday, July 27th and continues until Sunday, July 30th at the Delta Fair Grounds.
One of the oldest fairs in Ontario hosted by the Delta Agricultural Society. Gates open at noon on Thursday with the crowning of the Mini King & Queen. The midway opens at 1:00pm.
During the day there will also be the Rock the Arts Puppet Show and the Ambassador Pageant. Opening ceremonies start at 6:00pm and will include the announcement of the 2017 Ambassador and Citizen of the Year recognition followed by Jessica Wedden: Young Fiddler, Trick Fiddler and Step Dancer. Heading Thursday night on the grandstand will be the Jimmy Flynn Comedy Show followed by Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Tour.
Friday will see Children’s Races, Rynestone Magic Show, music by Irish Roots and Rocky High and the Northern Lights as well as an automobile thrill show.
Saturday will include, Horse Draw, Goat Show, Leeds County 4-H Cloverbuds, Lawn Mower Races, and Chicken Barbecue. Music will be provided by Kirk Francois: A Tribute to Elvis, Country Singer Tianna Woods and “21 Gun Salute” a Premier AC DC tribute band.
The last day of the fair, Sunday will see a tractor pull, Western Horse Show, Motorcycle Show and Shine, Children’s Pedal Tractor Pull and more. Entertainment is by Grand Jook.
Daily admission is $10 for 13 years and older and $2 for ages 5 to 12 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s admission is $8 for 13 years and older and $2 fpr ages 5 to 12.
Four day pass is $28, non-transferable and available until July 27th. Parking is just $2 in the William Street lot.
