Brockville – Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s Quinte – Kingston- 1000 Islands Chapter hosted their 10th annual Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History starting out at the Memorial Park Rotary Field House in Brockville on Sunday, May 26th.
Close to 50 walkers walked either a 1.5km or 3km route from the Field House down the Brock Trail to Parkedale, to Millwood and back to the Field House, raising $9,000 this year!
At the end of the walk the Brockville Kinsmen held a BBQ for the participants.
This year also marked the 15th national anniversary of the Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History, which takes place in over 70 communities across Canada.
Over 4,300 Canadians live with CF, the most common fatal genetic disease among Canadian children and young adults. There is no cure.
The walk is organized each year by Caroline Rigutto, whose 10-year-old son Ryan has CF.
