Lansdowne – We are less than one month away from the big day and registrations are filling up fast for our first annual Tourism Summit in Leeds and the Thousand Islands. Now is the time to visit our website and lock in your spot!
Our aim is to strengthen and grow the capacity of our local tourism providers by helping them learn unique marketing ideas, create bundle experiences, and seek out specific funding opportunities. “Interacting with experienced professionals will provide the detailed guidance our participants need,” states Community/Business Outreach Assistant, Amy Webb. The day has a full line-up with representation across multiple regions: The Opinicon Resort, Red Fish Cottages, Frontenac Arch Biosphere, 1000 Islands Kayaking and the Royal Theatre. “It is the local business successes that are the showcase here,” concludes Ms. Webb.
In addition, there will be industry experts available to provide support mechanisms and creative marketing ideas to this sector. “We are pleased to host two tenured experts with Carol Greenwood of Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) and Guy LaFlamme from Ottawa 2017,” notes Mayor Joe Baptista. “Each with over 25 years’ experience, they bring a wealth of knowledge and support to our area.” With the sharing format, the key takeaways for the Township staff are to have a better understanding of this sector’s needs and to enhance what we can offer through policy development.
The first of its kind, ‘Ignite Inspiration’, will provide learning and partnering opportunities for all. A networking lunch, catered by Wendy’s Country Market, will feature locally sourced foods. And guests will also be treated to a sneak peek of our Investment Readiness model.
We are excited for you to join us on Friday November 24, 2017 to take part in the first Tourism Summit and learn more about the benefits of sourcing local, networking within, and building our businesses together in Leeds and the Thousand Islands.
