Kemptville – On Thursday, May 11 th , dozens of local women gathered to take part in the second gathering of 100 Women Who Care North Grenville. Some were there just to check things out and learn more about this important organization. Others signed up right away so that they could contribute to the night’s donation to local charity. Membership increased since the first meeting, from 35 to 50 women.
Each voting member or team put forth a name of a local charity or non-profit organization for consideration. Three of those names were drawn randomly, and votes were tallied. In the end, Beth Donovan Hospice was the winning beneficiary of this quarter’s funds. The Hospice will be receiving $2600 on behalf of 100 Women Who Care North Grenville.
The founder of the North Grenville chapter of 100 Women Who Care, Ashley Vincent, commented on the enthusiastic turnout for Thursday’s meeting:
“I am so thrilled that we increased the number of women from last quarter. It goes to show how many wonderful, caring and thoughtful women we have here in North Grenville. I myself am so excited to be a part of something so powerful in our community and I can’t wait to see what our next meeting brings!”
100 Women Who Care NG plan to take the summer off, with a tentative date for the next meeting set for Thursday, September 7 th , 2017.
