Male arrested and stolen vehicle recovered after multiple collisions

Ottawa – On March 20th, 2019 at approximately 3:45pm, the Ottawa Police received calls for service to investigate a report of an impaired driver. A number of collisions occurred in the ByWard Market, Sandy Hill and Lees Avenue areas before the male driver abandoned the involved stolen vehicle.

The male was arrested by responding Patrol and Bikes and Beats officers a short distance away from the vehicle.  There were no injuries caused by any of the collisions. The male, 36 years old, will be held for a bail hearing on March 21st, 2019.  Central Criminal Investigations has been assigned the investigation. Charges and the name of the accused person will not be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
