Kingston – We at the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority are all about conserving resources, recycling and generally lowering everyone’s carbon footprint.
With that in mind, we have organized a special DIY Sustainable Holiday Decorating event, to take place Sunday, Nov. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the West Hall at the Outdoor Centre at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area.
Join Joli from Bella Fiore Farm and create a swag or centrepiece for your dinner table, or an outdoor arrangement for your entrance using sustainably-sourced, garden-grown materials. Please bring your own bowl, urn, vase, platter or tray – anything suitable to hold your greenery. Some greenery and decorative items will be provided, but folks are encouraged to bring their own dried flowers, branches, pinecones, berries etc., from your own garden, to supplement your creation.
The cost for this special even is $10 per person, plus regular gate fees. Pre-registration is required. Register online at www.crca.ca/online-services.
The Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area is located on Division Street just two kilometres north of Highway 401. Entry fees are: $5.50 per person for adults and children over 12, and $3 per person for children 12 and under, to a maximum fee of $14 per car. Annual passes are available for $80 per year.
