Kingston – A special fundraising dinner will take place on Friday, Oct. 12, at the stately Opinicon Resort in Chaffey’s Lock, with all proceeds going to support the Cataraqui Trail.
For attendees, a social hour, with hors d’oeuvres will take place starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by a sumptuous dinner, including dessert, prepared by the resort’s culinary team at 6:30 p.m. There is also a silent auction with items donated by local businesses and artisans. Participants can browse the items and place bids, which will be displayed on the second floor of the spectacularly renovated main building. Casual dress is recommended. Tickets are $80 per person and are available online at www.crca.ca/tickets
Money raised from the dinner will support the ongoing maintenance of the Cataraqui Trail, 104 kilometres of a former railway line that has been converted into a multi-use recreational trail stretching from Strathcona to Smiths Falls.
The Opinicon is a classic Canadian cottage resort that has been a summer playground for many generations of families. It’s situated at 1697 Chaffey’s Lock Rd., in the heart of the Cataraqui watershed between Indian Lake to the north and Murphy’s Bay to the south.
