Changes at Winchester District Memorial Hospital Related to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Winchester – Coming to WDMH – What You Need to Know.

To help prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), patient visits are not permitted at this time at Winchester District Memorial Hospital. Exceptions may be made on compassionate grounds.

Obstetrics patients may bring one support person with them.

Everyone coming to WDMH will be required to use the main entrance of the hospital (between 6 am and 6 pm) or the Emergency Department entrance (24/7 for emergencies). Mandatory screening will take place. At this time, regularly scheduled tests, clinics, rehabilitation and surgery will continue but will be reviewed daily. You will be notified if your scheduled appointment changes.

“We know that family members are an important part of the healthcare team, but we want to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients and our staff,” noted Cholly Boland, CEO. “We look forward to welcoming visitors back to WDMH as soon as possible.”

Each patient room has a telephone and there is no charge (except for long distance charges). As well, family and friends can send virtual cards through the WDMH website at http://www.wdmh.on.ca/sendapatientecard.
