From the creators of Quiltessence and Toys From Yesteryear, this special exhibit shines a spotlight on the art of cooking pre-electrification, pre-refrigeration and pre-convenience food; as well as satisfying your cravings for all things vintage kitchen!
Home for Dinner takes you back to a time of ashes and ice boxes, hand pumps and wood stoves, as well as the years of food ration books, austerity and ingenuity in the kitchen.Visitors will marvel at what it took to put good food on the table in the days of our great grandparents. Gain an understanding of how the kitchen changed from era to era and witness the impacts of wartime and economic depression on the average Canadian home.
