Spencerville Women’s Recreational Hockey League Set to Begin 13th Season

Spencerville – During the spring of 2007 a group of local women came together to create a recreational hockey league that would allow women of all skill levels to enjoy the game. The league launched in Brockville with 4 teams.

It has since moved to Spencerville where two games are played Sunday evenings between 8:30-10:30pm. The league is always welcoming new players and is looking to round out its membership this season with some new faces.

Current participants range from 19-60 and skill levels are diverse (beginner through senior aa). We aim to enjoy a lively game with lots of laughs and encouragement for all. Skilled players are encouraged to help develop teammates and to match their level of play to their opponents.

Basic skating skills are required. Previous hockey experience is not necessary. The goals of our league are fun, friendship and fitness. Positive and encouraging athletes are welcome.

We are also looking for volunteer referees. High school students are more than welcome to contact us and earn their volunteer hours.
Interested players can contact spencervillewrhl@gmail.com for more information.
