EC Pew News – Saturday October 1 St John’s United Church was abuzz with activity. In the large Hall, the Church Craft and Bake Sale was held from 9-3 pm featuring a wide array of items, many of them hand crafted, for purchase including jewelry, wood turning, doll clothes, local honey and, of course, a stunning selection of home baking. Well loved treasures were also offered.
The action continued in the small hall. Beautifully decorated tables laid with the fine china, laden with finger sandwiches and a selections of yummy treats welcomed guests to ‘High Tea’ in the best tradition. White shirted, black tied ‘Waiters’ provided service and ‘entertainment’ was provided by an array of Spider Men and young ladies clad in feather boas sporting stunning hats and glasses. The chance to have a picture taken on the throne (a very convincing King’s throne at that!) was also offered.
Five Star lunch, excellent service, great entertainment and a unique shopping experience. Who needs the bright lights of the big city when we have St John’s! Thanks for sharing another fabulous day with us all!
