NORTH DUNDAS – On January 19, 2019 The Seaway Valley Crime Stoppers Program hosted an event at Foodland in Winchester, Ontario.
The Mayor of North Dundas Township was arrested and placed in a Coke Case jail cell. Cuffed up for a cause saw Tony Fraser put on 250 pairs of handcuffs.
The fundraising event was in support of Crime Stoppers Month and took place from 10am until Tony was freed from all 250 sets of handcuffs.
Also, during this week PC Tylor Copeland of the SD&G OPP was around the village making other “arrests” of local business owners and community celebrities. The celebrities filled their “Bail Buckets ” to get them out of the cell on Saturday. The celebrities included Winchester Prints Kreg Raistrick, Foodland store owner Dan Pettigrew, Chris Guy owner Guy Fuels, owner Ron Blanchard Winchester Service Center and Maria Shelp from Winchester Public School
This wonderful community graciously braved the cold to support this event. The event raised $2500!!!.
The Seaway Valley Crime Stoppers Board of Directors and Police Co-ordinator Tylor Copeland would like to thank the community and all of the involved “convicts” for their support of this event.
